Mosaikholz second life StoneslikeStones „Teak Second Life“ ist ein einzigartiges Massivholzprodukt. Die Entstehungsgeschichte beginnt in Indonesien – dem größten Inselstaat der Welt mit mehr als 17.000 Inseln und unzähligen alten Booten. Aus diesen Booten und alten Holzhäusern wird das Holz demontiert und entnommen. Das getrocknete Holz wird in kleinere Stücke gesägt. Danach werden diese sorg- fältig ihrer Art entsprechend sortiert und mit einer 9 mm dicken WBP-Sperrholzplatte verleimt. Abschließend wird die Oberfläche leicht angeschliffen. Da wir zur Produktion keine frisch geschla- genen Hölzer und auch kein Plantagenholz verwenden, werden die gebrauchten Hölzer einer zweiten Nutzung (das „Teak Second Life“) zugeführt. Dadurch entscheiden wir uns gemeinsam für einen ökologischen Umgang mit der natürlichen Ressource Holz. StoneslikeStones „Teak Second Life“ is a unique solid wood product. The history of origin begins in Indonesia – the largest island nation in the world with more than 17000 islands and countless old boats. By the time these boats are no longer sea- worthy or the houses become dilapidated, we collect the wooden planks and recycle them. After the wood has dried, the nails are removed and the lumber is sawn into smaller pieces. The different types of wood are then carefully sorted out and glued on a 9 mm thick waterproof glued plywood. As a last step the surface is slightly sanded. Since we do not use freshly cut timber or plantation wood for our production, the used wood (the „Teak Second Life“) is com- pletely recycled. The ecologically friendly usage of resources like wood is one of our primary goals here at StoneslikeStones.
